When Should I Go To Disney?

The number one question that I'm asked is, "what is the best time to go to Disney World?" And while I would love to respond that there is no wrong time to go see the mouse... there are definitely 2 major things to consider!

Weather

While most days in Orlando could simply be described as "hot", the weather does have a personality of it's own. Hurricane Season runs from June 1 through to November 30. The peak time for this tropical activity is usually mid-August to mid-October.

Summer is definitely the most wet in Florida, with the months of June to September averaging between 6" and 8" of rainfall. But don't let that statistic scare you... most rain showers last under 30 minutes per day.

January, February, and December are the most temperate when it comes to heat. In most evenings, the temperature will dip so low that you'll need a light jacket or sweater.

Is the summer heat bearable... yes. But not without planning. You'll need lots of water, a portable fan, and plans to snag moments in the air conditioning to recover.

Also Animal Kingdom is absolutely the hottest park. I was struggling on this particular day, haha.

Crowd Levels

Even more predictable than the weather are the crowd sizes. And if you're anything like me, this factor is weighed with a higher importance than the former. Don't get me wrong... I love people. But if I can choose to be around fewer of them I absolutely will.

There are a few factors that always make crowd levels higher: school breaks, holidays, and special events.

The first two are expected, but the special events category can be easily overlooked. (Which is why you need ME on your side in planning!)

Here are some things that bring what I like to call the "sneaky crowd levels" (outside of holidays):

Jan - RunDisney Marathon, Cheer & Dance competitions

Feb - Cheer & Dance competitions, RunDisney Princess 1/2 Marathon

Mar - Cheer & Dance competitions, Spring Break

Apr - RunDisney Springtime Surprise

Oct - Fall Break , RunDisney Wine & Dine, Halloween Party

Nov - Christmas Party

Dec - Christmas Party

We made this crowd calendar to give you an easy visual of expected/average crowd levels for 2025:

So... as you can see, there is no one right answer to this question. Are you okay with crowds, or do you prefer low attendance levels? Do you want to have comfortable temperatures, or are you willing to battle the Florida heat? Is there a special event that you're dying to go to?

Good news is, you don't have to do this alone! With me on your side, we will pick the time that best fits your family. Click the button below, and let's start planning your next magical vacation!
